Welcome to Fellowship Baptist Association!

Fellowship Baptist Association is a network of Southern Baptist Convention and Missouri Baptist Convention churches committed to work together in an effort to follow the Great Commandment and fulfill the Great Commission.  Our churches are primarily located in Benton, Hickory, and St. Clair counties in the great state of Missouri.....and we hope you'll consider making one of them your church home!!

A seminary professor once asked a question of some international students, "What do you understand the term 'Fellowship' to mean?"  There was a moment of silence and one finally said, "Fellows in the same ship?"  Now, isn't that even more true than what we usually think of "Fellowship?"!  I hope as you think of Fellowship Baptist Association, it's in the light of this unique definition....that we are here together.....serving Christ and one another like we are in the same ship depending on one another and working together to bring God glory and honor!!

Jesus was once asked, "What is the greatest Commandment?"  His reply was that we are to love the Lord our God with all that we are.  Folks, that's God's desire for FELLOWSHIP with us!!  He went on to say that the second commandment was similar.....to love our neighbor as much as we love ourself.  Sounds to me like FELLOWSHIP with one another.  Ultimately we are to follow the Great Commission -- to go into the world with the message of Christ.  Now, doesn't that sound like a command to bring others into FELLOWSHIP with our Lord?  No wonder we like the sound of FELLOWSHIP Baptist Association!

I hope if you are considering a move to our area....or even a visit to our area....you'll make one of our churches your choice of a place of worship!

Keep your Nose in the Word, the Son in your Eyes, and May God Bless you Real Good!  Bro.Dave

Fellowship Baptist Association exists: to assist the churches in fulfilling the Great Commission; promoting unity, Christian fellowship, and Baptist doctrine; and be a channel for information and resources.

The upcoming strategy for 2012 will be GPS THROUGH HIGH IMPACT EVENTS.  The emphasis for 2012 will be outreach strategies utilizing High Impact Events.  Visit www.gps2020.net for free informational downloads that include planning manuals for 2012!

Gary Taylor, our MBC Evangelism Specialist, will be with FBA on February 16 -- 6:30 PM -- FBC, Warsaw.  We will begin with a light soup/chili/sandwich supper together, then Gary will help answer some questions we may have on GPS, 2012 -- Reaching People through BIG DAY events.  This will be a great training opportunity for pastors, evangelism leaders, and others who will be working with your church's BIG DAY events!

During this special training opportunity, we will also be discussing a BIG DAY event that will take place at the Lucas Oil Dirt Track in Wheatland on April 21!  The Missouri Baptist Convention, the North American Mission Board, along with the help of several of us around the area will have the chance to help with a www.findithere.com sponsored night at the races!  Hear how you can be involved in this BIG DAY event!!

Children's Ministry Day -- Feb 18, 2012

February 18, 2012....   Each February...the 18th in 2012....thousands of children across North America will be encouraged to participate in ministry projects on the same day...Children’s Ministry Day.  From feeding hungry people to visiting shut-ins, girls and boys follow God’s command to “put your love into action” (1 John 3:18). Church groups are encouraged to create projects that meet needs in their own communities.  WMU created Children’s Ministry Day to move children out of their churches and into their communities to do missions. The first Children’s Ministry Day was in 2008.  Since 2008, more than 150,000 people have taken part in Children’s Ministry Day! WMU invites all children in grades 1 through 6 to participate.

Winter Cancelation Policy

If any of the schools in the association are canceled.....any activities of FBA will also be canceled.

Sinnissippi Update......

THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!  Please put the dates of June 3-9, 2012 on your calendars!  Fellowship Association will be working in conjunction with FBC, Lowry City in developing a community service type mission trip to Sinnissippi Association.  I plan to meet with John Mattingly in November or December to try to get with the city council on one of those dates.....and hopefully work with the city folks as we develop a plan for that week.  After that meeting, we'll begin putting together the specifics for the trip!!  At this time, I know we will be offering two lodging options.....camping at the KOA in the area or staying at a motel near our area of work.  Keep watching for updates!!!
